An homage to the golden years of skateboarding during Portland’s beautiful summer evenings for Alright Magazine, focusing on the glory of the “Junk Jam” and celebrating the rich community of skateboarders who came together at the end of every working week.

Deliverables included a long form editorial piece defining, showcasing, and reflecting on what it meant to be a skateboarder in Portland, Oregon during a period of time where we had complete freedom to express ourselves and demonstrate the incredible power of community.

In the summer of 2020, these junk jams were repurposed as community fundraisers and were central meeting points for those who supported the BLM movement - a tangible demonstration of how community can influence change on a global level.
